Every person who chooses therapy does so for a unique combination of reasons, as my patients have revealed to me in twenty years of private practice. No one fits into simple categories, teens especially. Some are impacted by events long ago, others by recent setbacks, while most are triggered by a combination of influences known and unknown. Working with children and adolescents, I understand these manifold pressures are sometimes accompanied by resistance to change, thereby limiting the otherwise positive support offered by family and friends. I am interactive and goal driven. My work is integrative, combining elements of cognitive-behavior therapy, functional analytic psychotherapy and contemporary psychoanalysis to assess, engage and work toward a resolution for your needs, or those of your child and family.
As a Licensed Psychologist since 1999 and certified School Psychologist since 1993, I have worked with a wide range of presenting issues. My specialties include anxiety, mood disorders, distressed couples and families, relationship conflicts and dissatisfaction, parenting, and life stage transitions for pre-teens, adolescents, young and middle age adults.
