I have worked in the mental health and substance abuse community for over 15 years through volunteer work, in-patient and outpatient services, detox and emergency room settings. I provide a client centered approach with a dash of reality therapy and a lot of motivational interviewing to treat depression, anxiety, and substance abuse. I assist in the development of healthy coping skills, setting AND reinforcing healthy boundaries and quality communication skills. I strive to raise mental health awareness and focus on improving symptoms to build a better sense of self and desire to serve the communities in which we reside.
I specialize in CBT and Reality interventions with adults and late adolescents. I integrate life and coping skills utilization including health and wellness, diet and nutrition and conflict resolution into individual therapy sessions to assist in improving emotional regulation through applied coping skills to assist in improving interpersonal relationships.
I consider myself a "new generation" counselor with a causal approach to best build a safe and secure therapeutic relationship. Through these interventions I address treatment needs while maintaining client accountability and integrity in an environment that is best suited for your treatment needs.
