I have worked for over 20 years with children under stress due to school issues, divorce, family crisis, separation or deployment. I utilize a combination of play therapy, mindfulness and CBT to promote changes in thinking and behavior. Play therapy can especially benefit traumatized children, as it allows them to process the trauma at their own pace.
I practice a flexible, client centered approach in my work with children and adults. I emphasize strengths and help clients to build coping skills and healthy relationships. I have completed training programs in Trauma Focused - CBT, Family Systems Trauma (FST), Play Therapy, Poetry Therapy, EMDR Level 2, and Parenting with Love and Limits.
