I work with youth 18 & under.
For 15 years, I've worked with children & families who've experienced trauma. In our work we will move through challenging situations by using your child's strengths, building skills, & enhancing relationships & attachments.
Particularly after traumatic experiences, therapy & consistent supportive relationships can help the world feel safer. Working as a team with caregivers, my hope is that you & your child build confidence, trust, & skills to navigate the world.
As a former school social worker, I also enjoy helping youth with ADHD learn tools for classroom success.
I use a variety of tools depending on development & clinical indications. For younger clients, we will often work through play, movement, regulation skill building, and creativity (art, story, etc.). For older youth, we will add more talk therapy strategies. Caregivers are an important part of the process and will be included regularly.
The most important part of therapy is relationship. My hope is to connect briefly in a 15 minute phone call to see if my skills & approach match what you are looking for.
