Many of us struggle to feel at home in our bodies and minds. Our inner voice can be harsh and unkind; sometimes, we can hardly hear it over the noise of anxious thoughts. Painful experiences may intrude upon our sense of safety, as well as the hopes we have for the future. Therapy offers you the time to slow down and the space to be heard. During our first session, I will follow your lead, actively listening with the aim of understanding what’s bringing you here. Throughout our work together, I endeavor to create a nonjudgmental space for all the different parts of you, including those parts you feel are closed off.
In addition to my listed specialties, I also provide therapy to parents and their adult children to work through relational challenges (e.g., mother-daughter dyads). I have a particular interest in perinatal work with parents leading up to and after the birth of a child. And I work with couples/partners seeking a space to deepen their empathy and connection.
My approach is warm, conversational, and sincere. Together we will work to understand more about what you are experiencing, recognize coping styles which may no longer serve you, and identify how you'd like to move forward in your life.
