As a Licensed Professional Counselor and National Certified Counselor, I work to create a comfortable, safe, and supportive environment to make it easier for clients to maximize their potential and reach their personal goals. I emphasize a holistic approach which includes attention to body, mind and spirit; believing that life can be better for clients and those they love if given the tools they need to make healthy choices.
I work with adults of all ages and backgrounds on issues such as grief, depression, anxiety, trauma, and codependency. I use an integrated theoretical orientation comprised primarily of Cognitive Behavioral therapy, EMDR and Reality Therapy. When working with couples I incorporate materials gathered from EFT and Gottman resources.
Prior to working in private practice, I worked as unit therapist for psychiatric intensive care and have experience working with clients and family members of clients with chronic mental illnesses including, but not limited to, Bipolar Disorder, Major Depressive Disorder and Schizophrenia.
