We learn from our experiences! Sometimes those experiences "teach" us something about ourselves or our place in the world. For example, childhood trauma may teach us that the world is not safe, that we are not lovable, or that we need to be afraid of relationships. These "lessons" may create barriers to feeling safe and loved. If you are experiencing roadblocks related to difficult experiences, please reach out. I work with adults and teens in remote individual sessions.
Through a trauma-focused lens, we will work together to understand what experiences, memories, or thoughts are root causes of current distress. Using EMDR as the primary intervention, with mindfulness and CBT, we will work together to reprocess root causes so that they do not show up with as much strong emotional charge.
