We learn from our experiences—and sometimes those experiences “teach” us lessons that aren’t helpful. Childhood trauma, for example, may teach us that the world isn’t safe, that we aren’t lovable, or that something bad is always around the corner. Over time, these learned beliefs can create barriers to feeling safe, connected, and emotionally regulated. My goal is to help you feel more grounded, empowered, and free to engage with your life in the ways that matter most to you!
Through a trauma-focused lens, we will work together to explore the experiences, memories, and thoughts at the root of your current distress. Using EMDR to help desensitize distressing memories and CBT to shift unhelpful patterns of thinking, we will collaboratively reprocess these root causes so they no longer carry the same emotional intensity.
