Do you struggle on the inside, even if others see you as capable? Maybe you criticize yourself or think you should be achieving more. I work with people who are successful in some areas and not in others. They may be frequently frustrated, disappointed, ashamed, or even angry, but they don’t know why. So they beat themselves up, hide their pain, and often give up on their dreams. As a therapist, I help my adult and adolescent clients discover how to respect, trust, and care for themselves, so they can live life fully again.
To tailor treatment, I will listen with care and respect for where you want to be and where you have been. I often work with individuals who deal with loss, chronic medical conditions, marginalized identity, situational or multi-generational trauma, and so balance a developmental lens, a sociocultural perspective and strengths-based approaches.
Therapy is often a dance between challenge and encouragement. Once we've established trust in the relationship, I help my clients safely face whatever is happening or has happened to them; I specialize in noticing and drawing your attention to moments of success.
