About
I practice a type of somatic therapy that helps people increase contact with their physical experience. Too often, we lose contact with our bodies through social conditioning or relational trauma. By working to develop somatic awareness, we can refine our emotional intelligence and thus our sense of self-agency: If you know what you feel at a gut level, you can be clearer in your discernment, and empowered to ask for and claim what you need in your life.
Since disconnection from the body is often created in response to relational dissonance, I believe that reconnection is best achieved in a relationship in which you feel safe and understood. Therefore, as well as focusing on your somatic experience, I consider our relationship to be a central component of treatment.
My mission as a therapist is to support you to feel safe and empowered in mediating between your sense of being and belonging.
