As a counselor, my goal is to not help you feel better, but helping you to feel better.
Psychotherapy, by it's very nature, is a relationship-based treatment. It is two or more people interacting with the purpose of bringing about some kind of relief and healing for the client. So, the treatment itself is embedded in the relationship you have with your counselor. That's why it's important to work with someone you have a good rapport with, in a caring, safe space.
I am dedicated to sharing skills, perspectives, and teachings that will assist you in learning new ways of being so you can understand thoughts, emotions and experiences in more flexible and adaptive ways. Previously an educator for 28 years: elementary, middle school, high school, and now university levels.
