Welcome! I am glad you're here, exploring options for support. I believe that the client-therapist relationship needs to feel like a good match for clients to experience therapy as a rewarding process. To get a sense if I might be a good match to you I would like to offer some information about myself and my approach to therapy. My name is Anna and my pronouns are she/her. I am originally from Hungary and moved to the United States for my education. I completed my BA in Psychology at San Francisco State University and my MS in Marriage and Family Therapy at Northwestern University.
The "key ingredients" to my therapeutic approach are humility, non-judgmental curiosity and empathy. In my approach, I value collaboration and utilize the client's existing strengths. I believe that every client is the expert of their own life, and I strive to offer guidance and an additional perspective.
Using a culturally sensitive lens, I strive to continuously deepen my understanding of systems of inequality and their impact, intersectionality, innate biases and the significance of one’s social location. Outside of the therapy room I enjoy spending time in nature, spoiling my dog and connecting with my loved ones.
