When you feel everything deeply, life can be both beautiful and overwhelming. Your sensitivity is a gift — but when emotions grow too big to manage, they can cause pain, confusion, and sometimes crisis. For some, this includes self-harm or thoughts of suicide. You don’t have to go through that alone. I’m a Santa Cruz-based therapist informed by Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), specializing in helping highly sensitive people, artists, creatives, and those who experience the world in vivid “Technicolor.” Many of my clients live with complex trauma, PTSD, or a history of invalidating or critical environments.
I work with people struggling with intense emotions, suicidal thoughts, and harmful coping behaviors. DBT is an evidence-based method that teaches practical, lifelong skills to regulate emotions, tolerate distress, and build a meaningful life. Together, we’ll explore how your mind, body, and emotions work so you can care for yourself.
You’ll develop a toolkit of strategies you can use anywhere, from calming emotional storms to making choices that align with your values. If you’re a highly sensitive person, a creative spirit, or someone navigating big emotions and difficult experiences, therapy can help you return to your best self with clarity, compassion, and tools you can trust.

Groups
Young Adult DBT Skills Group (Telehealth)
A DBT skills group uses a psycho-educational class format where the emphasis is on learning and practicing behavioral skills. These skills include mindfulness, emotion regulation, distress tolerance and interpersonal effectiveness. Skills are taught in a series of three modules, each lasting approximately 8-10 weeks. The first two weeks of each module cover and review mindfulness and this skill is also practiced in every group. The following six to eight weeks rotate through each of the remaining modules. All the modules will be covered in approximately 6-8 months. This group is focused for young and emerging adults specifically
