About
My intention is to be a neutral third party with whom a client can express themselves free of judgment, reflect on their own thoughts and experiences, and find their own direction. I strive to understand the person before me from their own perspective based on their unique values, cultural beliefs, and daily stresses and concerns. I believe someone’s difficulties are not always due to abnormal psychopathology but can arise as a normal reaction to an abnormal situation.
I have a particular interest in working with individuals who live alternative lifestyles or are struggling with issues of pregnancy, new parenthood, or romantic and familial relationship difficulties. I work within CSTARS, a psychological services agency, with an option for integrative care that can include treatment such as:
Psychological testing for children and adults as well as substance use treatment plan development. I do not specialize in working with substance use disorders and am not able to provide care for that concern currently. However, I would be happy to help coordinate care with our agency psychologist if you'd like to develop a treatment plan.

Anna M Parks's Groups
Women's Recovery Group
This group is for women who have experienced sexual victimization in early childhood, adolescence, or adulthood. All members are encouraged to be in individual therapy. This is a trauma-focused treatment process, using non-confrontive existential-humanistic counseling with 2 co-therapists. One female (Dr. Anna Parks) and one male (Dr. David Moore) therapist lead the 60-minute group. Many women had counseling or therapy without enough trauma focus to relieve anxiety and/or restore comfortable sexual activities. Group members are supportive without giving advice or interpreting others' personal history. Please feel free to contact CSTARS for further information.
