I work mainly from a person-centered, solution-focused and strengths-based approach, frequently pulling in skills from cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing & relational techniques. I believe that regardless of what you were born into, or the tragedies or hardships that you have accumulated over time, healing and thriving is possible. That process isn’t easy - it can be messy and it can take a lot of work, but it is possible.
My background is primarily in co-occurring disorders, chemical dependency, and general mental health. I love hearing people’s stories and helping a person carry their struggles. What made me fall in love with this job the most is watching people push through those struggles and come out on top. It is a joy to watch people find the beauty in life.
I offer a space where there is no judgement, as well as an open mind and open heart. While therapy can be very serious, I like to bring some humor and light-heartedness to the sessions.
