I take a humanistic approach to therapy and believe that we make meaning out of our life experiences; we are capable of engaging our creativity and its healing processes. I utilize somatic awareness and acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT) to support you in decreasing struggle and living in alignment with your values.
Having worked in inpatient psychiatric facilities, school- and home-based settings, and community agencies, I have experience with a variety of mental health and emotional concerns. My thesis research was on the psychological/emotional aspects of chronic pain and I have experience in providing perinatal support.
As a dance/movement psychotherapist and counselor, I combine my skills tailored to you. A session may be solely verbal or it may be focused on movement. Often verbal and dance/movement psychotherapy techniques are woven together organically to support your growth, health,and self-understanding.
