About
There’s no one therapeutic approach to help us live happier lives. Recovery from painful experiences, emotional or physical abuse, a complicated hurt-filled relationship, impasses at work, coping mechanisms that no longer help—these different challenges deserve flexible approaches. Childhood skills no longer fit the problems we face as adults. Grief that couldn’t be dealt with then is more complicated now. Relief from depression and anxiety cannot work if confidence, strength, and intimacy are blocked. Understanding the whole person—creating new approaches and thoughtful solutions to problems—is the way I think and work.
After more than 25 years of experience treating children, adults, and couples, my interests and skills extend beyond my training in psychoanalysis and psychodynamic therapy—to include work on trauma and PTSD, complicated grief, learning disabilities, CODA, CBT, and biological insights—moving a person to self-awareness & practical self-guidance.
I'm a warm, active, straightforward therapist & good listener, assessing personal histories, understanding obstacles & replacing them with fulfilling strategies to create a new, happier, approach to your life. Freedom of choice is central, and when you leave therapy, that freedom—along with tools to help you when old patterns show up—will keep you growing.
