Most people have challenges with self-worth, emotions and relationships—whether with partners, family, friends, or colleagues. Over my 40 year practice, I’ve found that these struggles often stem from trauma, relational conflicts, anxiety, and coping patterns (avoidance, depression, substance abuse, explosive anger). We can work together toward change.
Real change comes from an intentional, sustained focus on experiencing emotions and insight. My work is grounded in psychodynamic principles, Intensive Short-Term Dynamic Psychotherapy (ISTDP), and Attachment Theory.
While psychotherapy is the foundation of my professional life, I also teach, consult, and develop programs. I have taught at UCLA, USC, Loyola Marymount, and Antioch University. I created the Balancing Life Project (BLP), a wellness program and ISTDP for New Learners (INL) for therapists.. I also present at national and international conferences.
