Dr. Stephen Purcell is a native of Grenada, West Indies. He obtained his PhD in clinical psychology from Andrews University. Before beginning his career in psychology, he served as a minister of religion in South America and the Caribbean. Dr. Purcell has special expertise in working with people from diverse ethnic groups and religious backgrounds.
Dr. Purcell provides treatment for relationship and family difficulties; depression, anxiety and stress; addictions (including sex addiction); anger problems; unresolved issues from childhood; and academic/career issues. Dr. Purcell tailors his approach to the needs of the individual client. Among other techniques, he draws from cognitive behavioral therapy, interpersonal therapy, and psychodynamic therapy.
