I specialize in working with children, adolescents and their families. I believe that the counseling process is the basis from which change can occur. It is my desire to create a safe environment where individuals feel their experiences are understood and accepted. Together we will discuss treatment goals and objectives. Areas of experience include attachment, sensory processing, social skills, conflict management, ADD/ADHD, anger/opposition, anxieties, depression, grief/loss, trauma, transitions, parent-child relations and divorce/blended families.
I work from an attachment and family systems perspective. Parents are provided psychoeducation throughout the counseling process to encourage the family system to learn and grow together. My office is equipped with a well-supplied play room that includes expressive art materials.
I am a Certified EMDR Therapist. EMDR can be used alone or integrated with other therapies to treat trauma and provide significant relief for clients. EMDR targets specific memories of trauma and combines cognitive, emotional, and somatic processing with neurological stimulation to reduce the levels of distress.
