About
Angie DeFilippi is a Board Certified, Nationally Certified Counselor (NCC) that specializes in perinatal anxiety and mood disorders, PTSD and trauma, grief and loss, depression, anxiety, parenting skills, and child and adolescent counseling. She is trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing Therapy (EMDR), Child Centered Play Therapy, Child Parent Relationship Training, and in perinatal anxiety and mood disorders. Angie practices from an integrative, person-centered approach and uses a variety of therapeutic techniques in cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), EMDR, expressive arts therapy, play therapy, and sandtray.
Angie is here to assist you or your child or teen in cultivating healthy coping mechanisms, tapping into internal resources of resilience and hope, and developing skills to promote emotional and social wellbeing. She utilizes CBT and EMDR to help new moms who are struggling with postpartum depression and anxiety and traumatic birth experiences.
With children 3 and up, she uses play therapy, an evidence-based approach. Angie collaborates with parents and caregivers to help them communicate more effectively with their child, recognize and understand their child’s emotional needs, give them tools to help them reduce or stop behavioral issues, and enhance the parent-child relational bond.
