Teen Resiliency Group

This skills and peer support group is designed for teens who are seeking skills to better manage anxiety, depression and foster self-acceptance. Participants also have an opportunity to build supportive relationships with other teens. Drawing from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, the topics covered include: identifying thought patterns and negative unconscious thoughts, learning distress tolerance skills, practicing mindfulness and self-compassion. Also addressed: alternatives to self-harming and managing panic attacks. Regular social events are planned and have included art, hiking, tie dying, sushi night, and pizza game nights. New teens are welcome to join our empathetic and fun group.

SAFE for LGBTQ+ Teens

SAFE (Support Affirm Fun Educate) is a support group for LGBTQ+ teens seeking skills to better manage stress, symptoms of anxiety and depression and access a supportive therapeutic community. Sessions incorporate psychoeducational material grounded in cognitive behavioral therapy. Discussions focus on navigating sexual orientation identity, gender identity, transition, and coming out. The group provides teens with coping skills to foster resilience, improve mood and build self-esteem while learning positive solutions to bullying, social anxiety, peer interactions and more. Participants in the group also find support and understanding from same age peers. Fun social outings are a key and regular part of this group!
