I am a clinician focused on both deep emotions and practical coping. My therapy style is to collaborate with Clients to find out what works for you the best. It usually arises naturally from our body as body is the container for whatever we've been through. I am specialized to work on perfectionism, professionalism, depression, anxiety, panic attack, trauma, stress, autistic spectrum, emotional regulation, relationship, family of origin, and cultural/racial issues.

Life comes at us fast and we’re not always ready for it but that’s okay! I believe that we all crave connection with our peers, friends, family, and partners. And when we aren’t working on those connections, we’re working to build our connection with ourself. To fully work through that and make progress, I use a direct approach in helping clients address concerns that may arise from their connections with others or with themself. I believe that the most progress can be made when it’s accompanied with empathy and unconditional positive regard - two pillars of therapeutic work to foster growth and a sense of safety.

All around us the world has been shifting. Maybe at one point it all made sense: your feelings, sensations, and reactions (even the dark and heightened ones) felt known and even comforting. But now you are looking for a new way to be and a different understanding – a path forward and a way to endure your struggle. If you are someone who believes that each of us know our own wounds, that we possess a strong inner wisdom, and that we have the ability to access the latent potential to grow and change – or, you want to believe – you will find a good fit with me and my therapeutic offerings.

Sometimes in life we all need a “companion on the journey,” someone to partner with us and help make sense of our experience, ease our pain, and support our goals. As a therapist, I am committed to providing a safe environment where individuals can identify their strengths, recognize unhelpful patterns, and live into their goals. Working from an integrative, client-centered approach, I seek to support individuals wherever they are on their journey and my approach is holistic, collaborative, and non-judgmental. I value cultural humility and look forward to working with people of all backgrounds, identities, and walks of life.

I'm excited and hopeful at the prospect of working with anyone that is curious about the possibilities of what therapy can do and be. I do not have any rigidly defined senses of what therapy needs to look like or what kind of work should happen inside a therapeutic space, but I do have a mission to foster that space as a place of trust, compassion, curiosity, and liberation. My hope is to attract and work with clients who feel they are interested in and ready for beginning a new kind of relationship - one that may better enable them to catch sight of themselves and therefore understand themselves in new and meaningful ways.

I am a psychologist who believes that if something isn't working, try something different! I try to create an atmosphere for growth that is warm, kind and challenging. I do my best to steer clear of "psychobabble" and offer tools for change that are easily understood and practical. Whether the issues are emotional, relational or social, you'll find a safe place to do the necessary work to grow.

I work with individuals, couples, and families. Counseling is an art form.... the art of listening, the ability to create visual understanding of deeply embedded meaning regarded as truth vs. constructions. Healing begins when a client feels safe enough to deconstruct and replace maladaptive beliefs and behaviors. Integrating new perspectives and a fresh understanding of old stories is a means to sustainable change - a gift of self acceptance. As a therapeutic guide, I believe that each of us is the best source of our own healing....I am there to facilitate what is already true and wise in each client.

Counseling can offer an understanding of the behaviors, beliefs and emotions that fuel our daily interactions with families and other people. Therapy is a process. My job is to facilitate you through possible change options. It is my goal to work with you closely during therapy to aid in clarifying your goals for treatment, explore patterns and choices of communication, relationships, life style and foster development of beneficial coping strategies with commitment on both parts during therapy. The main goal is to explore patterns of behavior, thoughts, and actions to foster positive change and personal growth.

Currently accepting new clients. Trauma, attachment, + identity impact people in different ways. Do you often feel detached or numb? Do you avoid thinking about the past or self-medicate? Are you concerned about your parenting? Do you often find yourself in difficult relationships? Are you concerned about your memory? Do you feel sad or anxious a lot? Are you "stuck" in the same pattern? Do you have trouble trusting people? Are you irritable most of the time? Do you feel like you don't know yourself or your purpose? Do you feel incomplete or want meaning in life? If you answered yes to any-I believe I could be a good fit for you.

Hi, my name is Elli and I am here to help you on your counseling journey. Sometimes our brains can feel overcrowded by thoughts and emotions and we need an outside eye to help in making sense of the chaos. Everyone deserves a space where they can be wholly themselves and process life's stressors, this is the space I strive to provide within session. I have a passion for working with both teens and adults in navigating life's transitions and anxieties.

Anger Management Therapists

How long does therapy take for anger management?

Treatment duration depends on the person’s specific challenges and circumstances. There are treatments for anger problems that are shorter and more goal-oriented, like Cognitive behavior therapy (CBT), which can last weeks to months. Others, like Dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) may last between six months and a year, while a more intensive treatment, like psychodynamic therapy, is open-ended, and clients may see their therapist for a year or longer.

How do you know if you need therapy for anger management?

Everyone gets mad from time to time. But when angry outbursts become frequent and cause damage to relationships, whether at home or in the office, it may be a good time to look into therapy. A therapist can assess where a client’s anger may be coming from, suggest strategies for averting angry outbursts, and help a client create a plan to become a calmer version of themselves.

Is there medication for anger management?

Medications do exist that help people mitigate the feeling of anger, but these are reserved for people with anger-related psychiatric disorders, such as intermittent explosive disorder, oppositional defiant disorder, or in some cases borderline personality disorder. In these cases, antidepressant medications may be prescribed to help with the client’s symptoms. In most cases of anger management, however, talk therapy is the recommended treatment, along with lifestyle changes where relevant.

What’s the best way to encourage someone to seek help for anger issues?

It’s helpful to express your concern and love for the person while framing therapy as a tool for improving their life. Offering specific examples of how an individual’s behavior affected either themselves or others should be done with compassion and with empathy. It may be useful to devise a game plan—breaking the process down into parts, such as finding a therapist, making appointments, and looking into insurance coverage.
