I use cognitive behavior therapy (CBT) and psychotherapy integration to help various issues, including anxiety, depression, anger, ADHD, and life adjustments.
You can change your life to be, do, and obtain precisely what you want. But this must start with a decision on goals and a willingness to be flexible in your beliefs and actions to achieve them. I take an active, engaged, and empowered approach to psychotherapy and coaching services to accomplish this. My approach to providing clinical services involves seven main components to help you achieve the success you desire: 1. Connectedness, 2. Goal Oriented, 3. Cognitive-Behavior Foundation, 4. Integrative CBT Approach, 5. Learning Focused, 6. Evidence-Based, and 7. Collaborative.

A lot happens in life, and no one lives your life but you. Surviving trauma can shake our understanding of ourselves and the world, leaving us confused and no longer at peace. My focus is creating a supportive environment so you can think clearly to work toward the life you want while making the life you have work better for you.

Having worked in the field of Alcoholism and Chemical Dependency and treatment for over 35 years, I lived through the disease of addiction myself. Today, helping individuals and families from all walks of life to be able to receive the help they need I believe that experiencing the horrors of the illness first hand far better prepared me to help those in need than the years of professional training that have followed. Today, fortunate to have lived the past 40 + years in my own recovery, I remain forever grateful to those who cared enough to help me at a time when I could not help myself.

Is your life lacking the Peace, Joy, and Love that is promised in Scripture? Are your strategies to find them not working, or worse, causing even more problems? Emotional distress and relational difficulties are a normal part of life... we won't get away from them completely in this lifetime. Are your strategies to avoid them not working, or worse, causing even more problems?

My counseling experiences over the years have been incredibly enriching and meaningful. I am continually moved by the varying degrees of challenging life experiences that we are all tasked with navigating and the ways we attempt to cope, gain insight from, and hopefully transform our adverse circumstances. I’ve had the opportunity to assist a diverse range of clients in both inpatient treatment and outpatient therapy settings. Within these programs I’ve helped clients address anxiety, depression, grief and loss, trauma, academic challenges, relationships, identity changes, sexuality, and general life stressors.

When you are trapped within the jaws of addiction, the hope of escape and recovery seems absolutely impossible. Sometimes you are tempted to just "throw in the towel" and surrender to the thought that you are destined to be an "addict" for the rest of your life--that you just don't have what it takes to change. But based on my own personal background, years of hands-on experience, and education, I can assure you that this defeatist feeling is wrong, although understandable.

Anger Management Therapists
How long does therapy take for anger management?
Treatment duration depends on the person’s specific challenges and circumstances. There are treatments for anger problems that are shorter and more goal-oriented, like Cognitive behavior therapy (CBT), which can last weeks to months. Others, like Dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) may last between six months and a year, while a more intensive treatment, like psychodynamic therapy, is open-ended, and clients may see their therapist for a year or longer.
How do you know if you need therapy for anger management?
Everyone gets mad from time to time. But when angry outbursts become frequent and cause damage to relationships, whether at home or in the office, it may be a good time to look into therapy. A therapist can assess where a client’s anger may be coming from, suggest strategies for averting angry outbursts, and help a client create a plan to become a calmer version of themselves.
Is there medication for anger management?
Medications do exist that help people mitigate the feeling of anger, but these are reserved for people with anger-related psychiatric disorders, such as intermittent explosive disorder, oppositional defiant disorder, or in some cases borderline personality disorder. In these cases, antidepressant medications may be prescribed to help with the client’s symptoms. In most cases of anger management, however, talk therapy is the recommended treatment, along with lifestyle changes where relevant.
What’s the best way to encourage someone to seek help for anger issues?
It’s helpful to express your concern and love for the person while framing therapy as a tool for improving their life. Offering specific examples of how an individual’s behavior affected either themselves or others should be done with compassion and with empathy. It may be useful to devise a game plan—breaking the process down into parts, such as finding a therapist, making appointments, and looking into insurance coverage.
