I have advanced training in working with those with attention-deficit, bi-polar, depression, anxiety, addictions of all kinds, anger, grieving and relationship concerns including all types of abuse.
I believe that those in distress, grieving, angry or overwhelmed do not usually want a person to watch them drown, they want to be given a life preserver. With this approach I pro-actively educate, support, encourage and empower my clients through their personal and private choices, changes and challenges. I enjoy what I do because I come to the relationship with years of education, professional and personal experience as well as empathy, resourcefulness and compassion. We work together to move to a place of satisfaction and peace as well as confidence and accomplishment.

Our wounds, losses, and trauma can trap us in painful patterns of avoidance, anger, fear, sadness, guilt, and shame.
Whether you are coming to therapy for anxiety, depression, grief, relationship issues, a life change, or just a general sense of unease, facing these issues can be scary. Healing isn’t easy because it involves confronting our pain and hurts. Healing can also be full of joy, hope, connection, and freedom as we experience new possibilities of being and relating. My approach is warm, relational, and integrative. I strive to offer a space where you can feel safe enough to look inward – to gently and compassionately welcome all parts of yourself with less judgment and shame.

I have experience in helping people dealing with trauma, PTSD, anxiety, OCD, depression, illness, grief and loss, stress, anger, and this includes justice involved situations.
Accepting New Clients! No one told us that being an adult is so hard. There are so many ups and downs, responsibilities, bills to pay and people counting us. Work stress, personal stress, it can be tough just getting through the day. Do you have problems with depression, anxiety or past traumas that just make life harder. Sometimes we get so caught up in day-to-day life that we forget to stop and take care of ourselves. Maybe it’s time to stop and re-assess your situation, and start working on making some positive changes in your life. Asking for help is the first step.

Is your child struggling? You've tried everything in your power to help your child, but nothing seems to be working. There's anger, unhappiness, or anxiety that your child struggles with, and it's hard to know how to manage it all. You've had enough of seeing these challenges get in the way of your child thriving. All you want is for them to grow into the best version of themselves; but how? That's where I can help.

Moods or anxiety can feel overwhelming, and cause problems in personal relationships, work, or social life. Anger or anxiety can bubble up or creep in without a clear reason. At times emotional changes can feel like a roller coaster. For many, there are things they've never told anyone, but that linger in their mind. For some people, these issues have come up recently, and others have been grappling for a lifetime. Does any or all of this seem to apply to you or someone close to you? Need to talk about it?

Anger Management Therapists

How long does therapy take for anger management?

Treatment duration depends on the person’s specific challenges and circumstances. There are treatments for anger problems that are shorter and more goal-oriented, like Cognitive behavior therapy (CBT), which can last weeks to months. Others, like Dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) may last between six months and a year, while a more intensive treatment, like psychodynamic therapy, is open-ended, and clients may see their therapist for a year or longer.

How do you know if you need therapy for anger management?

Everyone gets mad from time to time. But when angry outbursts become frequent and cause damage to relationships, whether at home or in the office, it may be a good time to look into therapy. A therapist can assess where a client’s anger may be coming from, suggest strategies for averting angry outbursts, and help a client create a plan to become a calmer version of themselves.

Is there medication for anger management?

Medications do exist that help people mitigate the feeling of anger, but these are reserved for people with anger-related psychiatric disorders, such as intermittent explosive disorder, oppositional defiant disorder, or in some cases borderline personality disorder. In these cases, antidepressant medications may be prescribed to help with the client’s symptoms. In most cases of anger management, however, talk therapy is the recommended treatment, along with lifestyle changes where relevant.

What’s the best way to encourage someone to seek help for anger issues?

It’s helpful to express your concern and love for the person while framing therapy as a tool for improving their life. Offering specific examples of how an individual’s behavior affected either themselves or others should be done with compassion and with empathy. It may be useful to devise a game plan—breaking the process down into parts, such as finding a therapist, making appointments, and looking into insurance coverage.
