On the outside looking in it seems like you have it all together. But really you're in survival mode, wondering why it seems easier to everyone else. You are constantly looking out for the needs of others, to the point where you neglect your own basic needs. You have no idea where your illness ends and where you start. Each day feels like you are battling different parts in your own mind, struggling to get even the bare minimum done. But each day you push through, hoping for relief. Allow me to tell you that you are not alone, and you don't have to navigate this alone.

My goal as a therapist is to create an environment, and to foster a relationship in which my clients feel seen, heard, and safe to express their full range of emotions. Life is complicated, and much of the time people are burdened with meeting others’ expectations; in my practice I hope people feel comfortable enough to be vulnerable, and entirely themselves. Once our relationship is fostered through trust, honesty, and safety, a client and I will unpack and process negative self-beliefs, explore the importance of past and present relationships, and implement strategies to promote long term wellness.

Accepting new clients! Do you feel stressed, overwhelmed, and ready for change? We might be good fit if you want to understand why you feel miserable or anxious despite "doing it all". Maybe you are compassionate to everyone in your life, except YOU. Other symptoms include recurring negative patterns in their life, anxiety, depression, anger, overwhelm, relationship issues, problematic family dynamics, trouble getting new habits to stick, compulsively using external things to feel better (i.e. work, people, alcohol), pain, headaches, and more. I will support you finding your own answers, healing, and balance.

I believe that in order to change anything, we first need to understand and accept it. This is done through talking. I bring an empathetic, worldly, and multidisciplinary approach to help you gain a deeper understanding of who you are and what you want. We all repeat the same patterns through our lives that sometimes prevent us from happiness.Through therapy, we can start to observe those patterns, and then decide how we want to change them.

If you're looking for real, I have you covered! Congratulations on taking the brave dive into therapy and improving your life. I am excited about helping you reach your goals. When you leave each session with me, you can expect to have a take away tool that you can start using immediately to positively impact your mental health.

I think of therapy as a space where we can explore not only what is difficult or distressing, but also what is joyful, connective, warm, and creative. I believe that noticing what goes unspoken is just as important as recognizing the patterns in your life, and that not-knowing is just as valuable as curiosity. While I work with clients of all identities and areas of concern, I have a specific background in working with people under the LGBTQ+ umbrella, people exploring their relationships to their bodies, people who are neurodivergent and/or disabled, and people with complex, intergenerational, and/or cultural trauma histories.

We view reality through distorted lenses. The shape, color, and luminance have been altered by our experiences. Some lenses have endured so much that achieving a clear vision can be challenging! When light does manage to pass through, it can be quite painful...

People often seek therapy when they are feeling overwhelmed by emotions like sadness or worry. Maybe these feelings were lying under the surface and were brought up by a recent event, or maybe they are completely new and unfamiliar. I offer a warm and non-judgmental space for you to explore painful emotions and make sense of what’s bothering you. The therapeutic relationship we build will be the foundation for healing and, in order for therapy to help, it’s important that you feel safe. When you come see me, I will listen to you carefully and offer my thoughts and reactions with gentleness and care.

As a queer woman who practices polyamory, I can understand how we are often unprepared for the difficulties that arise when living in a mononormative society. It makes sense that emotions like fear or depression are brought up when we go outside of those norms, even for the seasoned consensually nonmonogamous folks. Together we can navigate your polyamorous relationship structure if you or you and your partner(s) find yourselves with insecure attachment styles impacting your relationship(s), are having difficulty managing boundaries, or need help dismantling couple's privlege.

Thus, I hope to support you through your own self-discovery with radical level of love, acceptance, and compassion so you can model that same love, acceptance, and self-compassion within. I aim to provide a warm, inviting, and brave space to share without fear of judgment.

I enjoy treating adults, teens, couples (married or otherwise), and families who are suffering from a variety of issues such as depression, anxiety, stress, illness, recent loss, drug and substance abuse and/or a history of trauma (emotional, physical and mental).I specialize in working with couples (married or otherwise). The relational dynamic and negative reinforcement cycles intimate partners find themselves trapped in are the things I have a strong knack for noticing and interrupting to allow couples to find new ways to improve their relationship quality.

You are pregnant again, but the excitement isn’t there. You feel anxiety before your OB appointments and try to make sure you are prepped enough to ask all the questions you need to. More stress keeps coming up. The thought of announcing your pregnancy and each new pregnancy symptom brings anxiety. You can’t help but wonder what will happen if you lose this baby too. No one seems to understand. It hurts to hear your family and friends encouraging you to forget about your loss and move on. You are wondering if you will ever get to experience the joy of pregnancy and bringing home your baby.

Is everyone in the Psychology Today Therapy Directory a licensed therapist?
The Psychology Today directory lists providers who offer legitimate mental health services to the public, including psychologists, psychiatrists, social workers, and counselors.
Many have been licensed by the country or state where they practice; providers whose license or primary credential has been verified by Psychology Today are signified by a “Verified” symbol. Some clinicians or organizations provide services for which their state or country does not offer licenses, such as pastoral counseling. They may be selectively included without the “Verified” seal.

What’s the difference between a psychologist, a therapist, and a counselor?
Therapists, psychologists, and counselors are all licensed mental health professionals. In the US, psychologists have earned a doctoral degree. The terms “therapist” and “counselor” are used somewhat interchangeably, but generally therapists offer longer-term, mental health care, while counselors offer shorter-term care that may focus on one domain, such as marriage, career, or academic challenges.
Clients should consider factors such as insurance coverage and their primary reason(s) for seeking therapy to determine the type of professional best suited to their needs. Someone struggling with mental health challenges such as depression or anxiety, for example, may wish to seek out a clinical psychologist or therapist, while someone navigating career obstacles or marital upheaval may benefit from seeing a counselor who can offer short-term, targeted support.

What type of therapy is right for me?
The type of therapy best suited to a particular individual depends on several factors, including their primary reason for seeking therapy, their preferred timeline (some therapy types last for a set number of sessions, while others are open-ended), and their personality and preferences—some may prefer a more structured approach. For many individuals, multiple types of therapy could provide a good fit.
How much does therapy cost?
The cost of therapy depends on a number of variables, including location and the therapist’s experience and training. On average, a therapy session in the United States could cost between $100 and $200 or more. If you have insurance, the expense of mental health care is typically lower, but it varies based on your insurance plan details and whether you choose an in-network or out-of-network mental healthcare provider.
What are more affordable or low cost therapy solutions?
Many therapists offer sliding scale payments, usually on a limited number of slots, which consists in an agreement between the therapist and a client to pay a reduced rate. Therapists who provide such arrangements often consider the client's income or ability to pay, but the extent of the discount is ultimately at the therapist's discretion. Furthermore, while group therapy may have different goals and benefits compared to individual therapy, it can be a more affordable solution to address certain types of issues.
Is online therapy cheaper than in-person therapy?
Many therapists charge the same amount for online therapy as they do for in-person therapy—though clients may still find this cost-effective if it cuts down on their transportation costs. Health insurance plans often offer equivalent coverage for online and in-person therapy; indeed, in many places, they are legally required to do so. Text-based or on-demand therapy apps may be cheaper than traditional one-on-one psychotherapy; however, the practice may be less effective and is not likely to be covered by insurance.
Is online therapy a good option?
Therapy conducted online can be just as effective as in-person therapy, as long as there is a strong alliance between the client and the therapist. To find a therapist who provides telehealth services to clients in your area, click “Online Therapy” on the directory homepage and search by your city or town or your zip code.
Are therapy sessions confidential?
Confidentiality is a crucial part of the therapeutic relationship. Therapists in the United States are bound by the regulations set out by the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPAA), which aims to protect sensitive health information. With very few exceptions, a therapist will only discuss their client with others when the client has given their written permission. The instances in which a therapist would be required to disclose personal information are: if a client poses a danger to themselves or others, if the therapist suspects the abuse of a child or an elderly or otherwise dependent adult, or if they are legally forced to by court order. These exceptions to the confidentiality agreement are usually discussed with a client before their first session.
