I work with primarily preteens, adolescents, and adults. My main focus of treatment is working with clients who are struggling with emotional issues, whether they are situational or due to a diagnosed mood and/or personality disorder. Additionally, I specialize in treating clients who have both emotional issues and substance abuse problems. I have worked in the mental health and addictions field for the past 20 years and feel that most substance abuse issues are the symptom of an underlying emotional problem. Music therapy is a modality I offer to clients who may struggle with traditional "talk therapy".

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with my Master's and undergraduate degrees in Social Work. I also have High Honors from the Phi Alpha Honor Society for my study in the field. I have over 14 years of experience working in the human services fields. I am Certified in Sexual Abuse Trauma by the American Academy of Experts in Traumatic Stress. I am EMDR trained and provide intensive EMDR sessions. I combine my knowledge of trauma and EMDR.

My goal is to help my clients find their life worth living, process emotions, and learn coping skills. My Master's degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling is from Walden University. I have been certified by the National Board of Certified Counselors and am working on my Perinatal Mental Health Certification, which focuses on loss, post-partum mood/anxiety, and more. I have training in DBT, which focuses on emotional regulation, distress tolerance, mindfulness, and interpersonal effectiveness skills. Besides just coping skills, DBT also works on looking at dialectics and acceptance versus change.
