She desires to see individuals become healthy and find freedom in their lives and relationships. Though not limited in her scope to just these areas Melinda has a deep desire to see victims of abuse find healing and wholeness and for relationships and marriages to be fulfilling and healthy. Melinda also has a specialty certification in sex therapy through ABCST, and deeply enjoys seeing couples and individuals find sexual fulfillment and intimacy.

Melinda uses treatments theories such as Family Systems, Attachment, and Developmental in conjunction with Gestalt, interpersonal, CBT, and Solution-Focused Brief therapy techniques to treat emotional issues in clients including depression, anxiety, sexual and other abuses, loss or grief, spirituality, and adoption. She also can offer spiritual formation and encouragement in the Christian faith.
