My approach to therapy is warm, present-focused, and collaborative. I specialize in trauma recovery, depression and anxiety, and coping with illness. I will work with you to help decrease suffering and increase the quality of your relationships and general life satisfaction. In the process, I will help you determine what matters most in your life and assist you in moving beyond unwanted habits or other obstacles towards engaging more fully in activities and relationships you value. I strongly believe that no one's life is written in stone--that everyone can make positive and lasting changes.
My therapy integrates mindfulness and acceptance approaches with cognitive behavioral components and is always informed by my training in social justice. I received training in mindfulness and cognitive behavioral therapy at McLean Hospital and the National Center for PTSD and Substance Use Divisions at the VA Hospital in Boston.
I enjoy working with clients representing a variety of ages, sexual orientations, gender identities, and racial and cultural backgrounds.
