I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker specializing in the treatment of anxiety, depression, mood, and personality disorders. I have experience working with individuals and couples and I also enjoy working with families. My goal is to provide the space, tools, and insight needed to help you begin and maintain emotional healing.

I offer counseling for a variety of reasons, to better help you understand what you may be experiencing or going through. Sometimes, understanding what we have going on is the first and most important part of healing and getting healthier mentally and physically. Through experience I have developed skills and expertise in dealing with children, teens, adults, couples, and families. I have worked primarily with substance abuse, cluster B personality disorders (Narcissistic, Antisocial, Histrionic, and Borderline), ADHD, anxiety, depression, impulse control disorders, and PTSD, but I am always eager to treat any issues that may arise.

It takes courage to ask for help, especially from someone you don't know. As a Licensed Professional Counselor, Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist and clinical pastoral counselor, I work with individuals, couples and families to resolve common human problems. I value the importance of theory driven therapy, and I practice from eclectic perspective primarily utilizing cognitive behavioral, narrative, and solution focused therapeutic models.

I am the co-owner of Family Therapy Clinic of Louisiana, LLC. I have over 28 years of clinical experience, and I specialize in psychological testing, cognitive-behavioral treatments, and medication management. I work with anxiety-based disorders including Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder, PTSD, and performance anxiety issues. I have worked with hundreds of athletes, and provided psychological services for LSU's Athletic Department over a period of 17 years. I am also licensed as a Medical Psychologist and manage medications for a variety of treatment issues.

Counseling is not just an educational endeavor for me, it is my true life’s passion. As my primary spiritual/natural gift, my purpose on earth is to utilize my counseling skills to serve others in any capacity that I can. As a licensed clinical social worker and a PhD in psychological anthropology, I've spent over 20 years studying how people all over the world overcome their suffering. I help clients develop life skills to improve their relationships, decrease their anxiety and find joy in and acceptance of the present moment. Specifically, I combine mindfulness and meditation with cognitive behavioral therapy and traditional psychodynamic methods so that clients can both understand and change what blocks them from happiness.

I work with families, children, and teenagers to help equip them with skills needed to thrive in life, and resolve conflict. As a parent and youth volunteer within the community, my heart is for this young generation and the issues they face. Depression, anxiety, stress, and peer struggles threaten the emotional well-being of our kids. Sadly, suicide is now one of the leading causes of death for this age group. It’s imperative that our youth receive an outlet for their emotional stress and injury, and receive the coping skills to work through the obstacles they’ll face now and as adults.
