Feeling stressed, overwhelmed, anxious, or at your breaking point? With all of the challenges life throws at us, it can be easy to feel like this. It can seem like there is not enough time in the day to get everything done. Sometimes we freeze, shut down, and retreat to our shell. Sometimes we lash out in anger. And sometimes we run away from our responsibilities by distracting ourselves in a variety of ways. These may be natural responses. Yet, we will benefit learning ways to strengthen ourselves to overcome these unproductive responses and break what seems like a never ending cycle.

My clients are often seeking help with depression, anxiety, anger, trauma, communication, relationships, workplace stress, and life transitions.
Life can be very complicated. You may feel like you are doing everything possible to make things better for yourself or for someone you love, but have run out of energy, ideas, or both. You may have a relationship with someone you love but just can't seem to get along. You may be a parent trying to best figure out how to help a child or teen who is having problems. You may feel burdened by sadness, fear, or stress. Or perhaps you have old wounds that seem to keep interfering with your ability to create the life you desire.

Accepting new clients 3/4/24. If we don't have relationships in this life, then what do we have? Relationships: that's what it is all about. When life is full of stress, arguments, chaos, pain, and hurt, our relationships struggle. We then feel very bad about ourselves and are often miserable! I can help guide you back to those quality relationships you used to have. Imagine a life filled with much more relaxation and happiness.

I have a wide range of experience working with clients of all ages on trauma, neglect, family issues, abuse, depression, anxiety, behavioral problems and other concerns. I often employ cognitive behavioral therapy to help get to the root of mental health difficulties by increasing understanding of thoughts, feelings, and behaviors.

As a parent, finding help (and the right kind of help) for your child or adolescent or even knowing where to start with that can be overwhelming. The fact that you’re even reading this though says one thing: you have hope, and that’s the first step! Therapy can help your child learn how to navigate difficult emotions, gain understanding of their personal goals, and find confidence in who they are, all in a safe and warm environment.

The path of life is rarely straight, and we all face ups and downs that can make us feel lost or out of balance. Seeking support when you're struggling requires courage, especially when feeling weighed down or distressed. I understand you’ve attempted contacting other therapists, and that their full caseloads have made timely responses challenging. I empathize with how disheartening that must feel when you're needing help urgently. Rest assured, I am ready and available to delve into your inner world without judgement or hesitation. I am here to listen wholeheartedly and guide you towards healing and growth.

Life can be difficult. Counseling shouldn’t be. When you’re struggling to cope with the challenges in your life, starting therapy is a courageous step toward change. In a complex world, we believe in straightforward, compassionate support. If you are feeling out of balance or in distress, it can feel defeating to reach out for help and be met with unreturned calls, waitlists, or therapists who are not taking new clients. Not addressing your issues with a professional can often lead to an increase of symptoms while you wait for your first appointment. We believe that you shouldn’t have to go through this alone.

Anger Management Therapists
How long does therapy take for anger management?
Treatment duration depends on the person’s specific challenges and circumstances. There are treatments for anger problems that are shorter and more goal-oriented, like Cognitive behavior therapy (CBT), which can last weeks to months. Others, like Dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) may last between six months and a year, while a more intensive treatment, like psychodynamic therapy, is open-ended, and clients may see their therapist for a year or longer.
How do you know if you need therapy for anger management?
Everyone gets mad from time to time. But when angry outbursts become frequent and cause damage to relationships, whether at home or in the office, it may be a good time to look into therapy. A therapist can assess where a client’s anger may be coming from, suggest strategies for averting angry outbursts, and help a client create a plan to become a calmer version of themselves.
Is there medication for anger management?
Medications do exist that help people mitigate the feeling of anger, but these are reserved for people with anger-related psychiatric disorders, such as intermittent explosive disorder, oppositional defiant disorder, or in some cases borderline personality disorder. In these cases, antidepressant medications may be prescribed to help with the client’s symptoms. In most cases of anger management, however, talk therapy is the recommended treatment, along with lifestyle changes where relevant.
What’s the best way to encourage someone to seek help for anger issues?
It’s helpful to express your concern and love for the person while framing therapy as a tool for improving their life. Offering specific examples of how an individual’s behavior affected either themselves or others should be done with compassion and with empathy. It may be useful to devise a game plan—breaking the process down into parts, such as finding a therapist, making appointments, and looking into insurance coverage.
