“Respect,” taken from Latin, means “to look again.” As a clinician, what I recognize most about my clients is their need to be seen and heard. I assist clients in improving their mental and physical well-being by providing evidence-based interventions, strategies, and coping skills. Leading with compassion and empathy are key elements for me as a counselor. I respect every client's humanity, I empathize with their stories, and we collaborate to forge the path that they desire for their lives.
I have found that using an Integrative approach to therapy allows for tailoring different theoretical orientations to the individual. Utilizing Psychodynamic theory also helps me better understand the client's lived experience. I currently collaborate with adolescent and adult populations. Eventually, I would like to work with the Senior population.
Building rapport and a trusting therapeutic relationship with my clients is pivotal in fostering a collaborative journey that will help them feel heard and empowered. I create an environment that focuses on safety, a sense of belonging, and encouragement.
