Have you ever thought to yourself, "I shouldn't feel this way, it doesn't make sense?" You are not alone. Often, we try to use rational thinking to understand emotional distress. My clients' goals are often to understand the feelings that are not logical or rational. Many have survived specific traumatic events or those that accumulate over the course of a life. I specialize in trauma, substance use disorders and obsessive-compulsive disorders; working with teens and adults.
As a therapist trained in EMDR and certified in ERP. I work closely with those struggling with troubling emotions which interfere in day-to-day life. Eye movement desensitization & reprocessing (EMDR) and ERP are evidenced based interventions. EMDR has been proven to help with traumatic experience, other troubling life events; ERP successfully treats OCD.
Whether you’re new to therapy or a seasoned veteran like me, I believe successful therapy begins with a strong therapeutic alliance.
