The counselor is not following the client or walking ahead of the client, but, instead, walking beside the client with a lantern, showing them what is written on the walls. By showing the individual what is on the walls, they can then decide for themselves which route they want to take.
I have been a licensed counselor since 2012, and I obtained my addiction counseling license in 2017. I have a master’s degree with an emphasis in Marriage, Family, and Child Counseling. I have worked in many different settings with many different people. I am currently bring trained in EMDR.
Currently, I have 8 years of sobriety. Not only am I educated in helping with achieving recovery, but I have lived experience with addiction/recovery/trauma. This lived experience, as well as my professional education and experiences gives me a unique perception. I am not here to judge you, I am only here to help you achieve the life you want for yourself.
