Are you experiencing a difficult time in your life right now? Are you frequently anxious or tearful? I have over 10 years experience helping people navigate challenging times in their lives. I have specialized training in helping people with body focused repetitive behaviors (BFRBs) such as hair pulling (trichotillomania) and skin picking (excoriation) and in helping people with OCD. Though I'm not in network with BCBS, I have had success in securing agreements with them for clients with BFRBs. I also help people who are experiencing depression.
When working with people with depression I use Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT) and with anxiety I use CBT and exposures to help people realize that they can cope with uncertainty. I use the COMB method for helping people reduce BFRBs. I am certified in Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) therapy which is the frontline treatment for OCD.
I am an outgoing, warm person, am good at putting people at ease and believe that therapeutic change can take place through a secure and trustworthy client and counselor relationship. I absolutely love my job! I am an ally of the LBGTQ community and welcome all people into my counseling practice.
