Trauma. Anxiety. Starting college. Moving over seas. Racial discrimination. Navigating romantic breakups. When you are experiencing a major life change it can cause worry, sleeplessness, irritability and even depression. Sadly, it seems that major changes don't just happen in isolation. In fact, you are likely struggling due to a combination of experiences that are further complicated by society's view of people from your background. It's not fair. As a clinician at PlayfulLeigh Psyched, I will help you get to where you or your teen wants to be.
Selecting me as your therapist or your teens' therapist means that who you are at your core, will be seen, valued, nurtured, and guided down a path of healing from the root. Trauma-informed, culturally responsive, and healing focused is my promise to you. Contact my administrative assistant to get started with me.
Due to my multicultural identity as a Black-Korean, I value cultural diversity and I am passionate about supporting patients from different races, ethnicities, identities, and cultures. I consistently adhere to social justice practices and am committed to serving historically marginalized populations, especially Black and brown communities teens and adults.

Third Culture Kids

What: Third Culture Kids (TCKs) are individuals who have spent a significant portion of their developmental years outside their parents' culture. TCKs entering or already enrolled in university face a unique set of challenges for example culture shock, identity challenges with struggles to merge and navigate between their home, host and global cultures, relationship building, academic challenges and homesickness. These challenges require resilience, adaptability, and support.
