I help clients gain awareness of their nervous systems, including their emotions and unsustainable behaviors that often result in isolation and disconnection. I believe that together we can learn how to approach any discomfort with emotions to fuel connection and compassion. I treat individuals, including clinicians themselves, with disordered eating/eating disorders, body image issues, PTSD (including dissociation) and pregnancy/postpartum mood and anxiety disorders. To me, the therapeutic relationship is central in helping clients to trust the process; I offer an environment that helps clients to feel supported and empowered.
Relational cultural therapy guides my work along with evidence-based approaches such as the Unified Protocol (an exposure-based therapy). For Trauma resolution, I am trained in Somatic Experiencing (SE) and EMDR. When we are stuck in patterns of fight, flight, or freeze, SE and EMDR helps us release, recover, and become more resilient.
In my practice, I take a warm and collaborative approach with my clients and with all members of my client's team (dietitian, psychiatrist, etc.). My trauma-informed goal is to create a safe and confidential environment to facilitate building healthier relationships with yourself, others, food, and your body.
