I help people with complex lives, who are struggling with grief, anxiety, and other issues. I am known for being professional, empathetic, and pragmatic. I help people make changes in what they can control: their perceptions and their responses. I also help people let go of what they cannot control, in order to focus on what will help them the most: managing their own body, mind, and heart. I help people create a stronger sense of self, empowered with purpose.

Anxiety and grief are my specialties. For grief, I offer the connection and the tools needed to recover fully. For anxiety, I train people to focus on what they can control, while unhooking themselves from burdens they should not carry. I encourage my clients to own their inner life and develop more skills for managing their inner experience.

Life is hard enough when things are going well, but we can get swamped with awful circumstances. We can get overwhelmed with loss. The storms can converge into a "perfect storm." And that's when it is time to get professional help. I am not afraid of the storms. You are not alone and you are not going to drown. You can learn to recover from any storm.

I use several therapeutic modalities, but the one I have found to be the most effective is Internal Family Systems. IFS is an evidence-based psychotherapy that helps a person manage his or her complex inner life in a way that is empowering, not pathologizing. It has some advantages over other excellent modalities that I use, such as EMDR, DBT, CBT, and ACT. IFS changes lives and does no harm.
