Choosing a therapist is a highly personal decision and I recognize the many emotions, including hope, trust, and vulnerability, which can accompany reaching out for help. My approach to therapy is evidence-based and specific to your needs: I see you as the expert on yourself, and my role is to facilitate the healing process. Together, we will co-create a space in which you can feel fully accepted and safe during your journey toward recovery and growth. Ultimately, my goal is to help you feel better and empower you to live a more fulfilling life that aligns with your values and goals.
While I work with people who are experiencing a range of psychological concerns, some specialty areas include grief, identity formation, living with a chronic illness (e.g., cancer, pain), interpersonal issues, and existential concerns (e.g., meaning-making, personal values), In addition to therapy, I also conduct psychodiagnostic evaluations.
In addition to my clinical practice, I am a Professor of Psychology at Brooklyn College, with extensive teaching experience at the university-level and research program (21 scientific publications and book chapters), including funding from the National Institute of Mental Health.
