Substance use isn't just about active addiction. It can be many things; depression, anxiety, trauma, feeling lost, or wanting more. Sometimes it's hard to know what to feel or do next, and that's ok. Being heard helps gain perspective on how you learn and how to decide what's helpful to you. Discovering insight into your experiences can help solutions emerge. In this way, the work reveals itself. You don't have to recover alone. With over a decade of experience, from moderation to abstinence, I have found over the years that recovery has many forms. My job is to find what works for you.
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Credentialed Alcohol Substance Abuse Counselor specializing in Addiction. I earned my Master of Science and Social Work with a concentration on Substances Use Disorder from Columbia University. I customize therapy driven by what your goals are as reflected by what I'm hearing. I am but an educated experienced guide.
In private practice, I have maintained relationships with my former employer - The Addiction Institute at Mount Sinai West, creating a rich referral base for appropriate ancillary services. I believe in recovery and I believe in growth - there is no pass or fail - only the work speaking to us; and we choose to learn how to answer.
