My approach to therapy uses conversation, curiosity, and humor to help clients regain a sense of control of their sensations, thoughts, emotions, and behaviors under stress. I believe that clients have the power to feel safer in their bodies relative to others and their environments by observing their perceptions, reinterpreting them, and accepting what they can and cannot control about them. I also believe that history, culture, and hierarchies of race, ethnicity, gender, sexuality, spirituality, class, ability, and neurodiversity have a role in influencing such perceptions and how they can be reinterpreted.
While success in therapy looks different for every client, I believe that clients grow most when they question their perceptions that prevent them from empathizing with themselves and others. When clients do this, they tend to leave therapy less judgmental of themselves and others and more resilient to changes in their bodies and the world around them.

Adoptive Fathers Support Group
As an adoptive father, I understand that every adoption story is unique. I started the Adoptive Fathers Support Group to provide a safe space for adoptive fathers to share in the joys and challenges of adopting and raising adopted children. This group is open to any current or prospective adoptive fathers of any race, ethnicity, or sexual orientation. Topics of discussion include, but are not limited to: attachment, masculinity, loneliness, (co)parenting, work-life balance, assertiveness, anger management, and mindfulness.
