Thinking about divorce? Did you just learn that your partner was having an affair? I practice Self Therapy: I will teach you to teach and cure yourself. We will examine your personality structure, childhood decisions, games, and script. You will learn how part of you had to adapt into a role that you still follow: Workaholic, Sceptic, Critic, Over-Reactor, Daydreamer, or Manipulator. The aim in Self Therapy is to achieve the goals that will enhance your life. Ultimately, we want to experience intimacy rather than compulsively playing "games" and collecting racket feelings (inadequacy, depression, rage, anxiety, indignation, etc.).
I specialize in couples therapy. To improve your relationship with your partner you will learn how you adapted as a child. This helps us determine what the target of therapy is based on your personality adaptation: thinking, feeling, or behavior. You will learn to communicate empathically with your partner based on their preferred channel of communication.
All I know is psychotherapy. I work six days a week to offer flexible appointment times, including evenings and Sundays, and I rarely take vacation. This is a private practice in Old Town Mankato.
