We are all conditioned to do the things that we do through our past experiences and past interactions. If we knew something else, then we would do something else. A need for connection or protection drives us. While we may have behaviors or patterns of thought that served us at a previous time, they may now be less effective or destructive to our current relationships and lives. It is truly an awakening experience of self-discovery when we learn how we have been impacted by the past and what we desire for our future.
My areas of focus include trauma, grief and loss, sexual and relational issues, faith transitions, religious trauma, and challenges with self-worth and self-acceptance. I seek to compassionately understand my clients and help them learn how their personal experiences, mind, and body have shaped their patterns, actions, and beliefs.
I know personally and professionally the turmoil that comes with trauma, grief, loss, and other psychological distress. I empathize with all who are seeking refuge and healing. If you are on the fence about therapy, I can assure you that there are ways to move in a helpful direction. While the path can be difficult, healing is always worth it.
