Navigating normal quandaries of school, friendship, self-esteem and more with our children can be scary. Sometimes, we hit bigger bumps in the road of life, like the loss of someone important (divorce, death, a move), health challenges (physical or mental) or circumstances that are unjust (bullying, trauma). Life may begin to feel unmanageable.
As a School Counselor for 16 years, I worked with many parents and children. That role allowed me to walk with families in real-time and see the myriad of circumstances that influence a child’s life. Witnessing first hand the struggles, the pain and the courage carried out day to day has informed and influenced me as a therapist.
