People come to me because they are struggling and feel stuck. I specialize in working with adults, children (and their families) who are challenged by anxiety, trauma, ADHD, or "Asperger's" but have experience with many different issues. I will help you understand about how the brain works, how to use it as your ally instead of an enemy, and how to find strength in the very things that challenge you. (ex: There are so many wonderful things about having ADHD!) I do this in the context of interpersonal relationships where we talk about things like identity and communication/conflict resolution skills.
Going through a major life transition? I will help you sort through your challenges, work with you to find insights that inspire positive decision/changes, and help you to be patient with yourself as you strive to figure out next steps. My office is a comfortable and private space for us to meet in and my online sessions are easy to access.
Working from a strengths-based perspective, some of my special skills are: CBT, CBT-I & (some) DBT, and communication strategies I am knowledgeable about: depression, trauma, executive functioning skills, role of nutrition/sleep in mental wellness, and parenting issues. I pride myself as being an LGBTQ affirming therapist.
