Co-dependent support group

This is a group for women who suffer from co-dependent behavior by constantly caretaking others at the expense of the self. They learn to develop self esteem and the ability to detach from enmeshed relationships in which they overfunction while others around them underfunction. Often significant others have addictions or unhealthy behavior and the support of group members in similiar situations serves as a mirror for their need to "people please" at any cost. Group dynamics validate and empower members to treat themselves with more respect and care. Progress is evident when members see themselves changing their self image and expecting more reciprocity from people who in the past took advantage of their low self esteem.
