I'm a licensed clinical professional counselor. After working as a survivor advocate for many years, I transitioned into my role as a therapist with the recognition that people have an incredible capacity for healing and change. My strengths include identifying and managing anxiety and depression. I also work with people impacted by trauma to undo the unhealthy patterns that can result and unlock their potential to live a healthy and meaningful life.
I am comfortable working with people over the age of 16 who are struggling with anxiety, depression, stress, relationship issues, and trauma. My tone is determined by the needs of my clients. Some people prefer a more direct, proactive, and guiding approach, while others respond well to a thoughtful, quite, and calm demeanor.
Because I believe clients are the experts about their lives it makes sense to let them develop their own goals. I like to help make those goals reasonable and achievable and adjustable, and I encourage the clients to assess their own progress toward their goals every few meetings.
