PCIT involves two phases of treatment. The first phase, Child Directed Interaction, trains the parent in play therapy skills to enhance the parent-child relationship and arms parents will a positive skill set to change their child's undesired behavior with only their positive attention. The second phase, Parent Directed Interaction, teaches parents via live coaching, safe and effective discipline.
