My name is Anayiah Howard (Ah-nay-yah) and I am currently an intern therapist at Iridescent counseling. I have a Bachelor of Science in Family Studies and Human Development with a minor in Childhood Development and Psychology. I am currently finishing my master’s in clinical mental health counseling with an emphasis in childhood/adolescent disorders. In regards to occupation, I work as a Licensed Applied Behavioral Analysis Therapist (RBT) with Advanced Autism Services. I have been an RBT for 5 years, working with autistic children of all backgrounds of culture, race, and gender; helping them become independent learners.
As an intern, I plan to work with the child/adolescent population, and utilize a variety of therapeutic methods such as cognitive behavioral therapy, motivational interviewing, solution focused therapy, play therapy, dialectical behavioral therapy and many others. Under supervision, I plan to learn more about play therapy and trauma informed care!
I have a strong passion for working with children as they need advocates to help them meet their personal goals in a safe therapeutic setting. As a seasoned RBT, I have worked with autistic children of all backgrounds, culture and race. I plan to continue this work with my mental health clients by providing them with tools for their healing journey.
