Hi, I'm Anastasia, founder and therapist at The Subtext. I’m a New Yorker, an artist, and a therapist with an endless curiosity about the complexity of being human. I work with individuals, couples, and relationships of all kinds, focused on ambitious creatives with unconventional lives. My clients are different, and most often, they already know it. While my approach is psychodynamic, I’m an eclectic therapist, and weave in EMDR as needed. No matter the modality, I bring warmth, irreverence, and curiosity to each session. Therapy, for me, is both a rigorous practice and an expressive space, equal parts science and art.

I bring extensive experience supporting clients across a wide range of lived experiences. As a sex therapist, my practice is LGBTQIA+ and kink/BDSM-affirming, culturally responsive, and grounded in social justice. I also have expertise working with out-of-control sexual behavior and accountability-focused care.

Our gender discovery group is an 8-week gender discovery group for men assigned at birth to explore their feminine identity. This group will use feminist therapeutic practices to facilitate a relational dynamic between participants to support one another through their individual gender discovery. This group is for the queer, closeted, confused, cross-dressing, expansive, femme, married, single, sure, and undecided. Am I Trans? Is about questioning together, instead of alone. Gender is a lifespan experience that welcomes identity exploration at every age and at every stage.
