¡Hola! I'm Anamaria, a Colombian Mental Health Counselor at Mental Health Matters (MHM) dedicated to providing strong support for your therapeutic journey. Whether you're just starting or well along the path, I'm here to guide you and collaboratively find ways to process, heal, and empower yourself to find what you are looking for. My focus lies in assisting young adults and adults through life transitions, identity exploration, and recovery from trauma and distressing experiences. I have morning and afternoons openings.
With a foundation in Neuroscience, I incorporate personalized neuro-informed protocols and tools for practical use. My lens utilizes trauma-informed therapy, cultural frameworks, mind-body feedback, developmental/attachment theory, which is complemented by the integration of my Dance/Movement therapy practice.
By prioritizing the integration of both mind and body where clients are able to express different embodied ranges of their lived experiences, I hope to continue to foster a therapeutic space of respect, care, empathy, humor, acceptance, and warmth.
